PKR Extends Winning Streak, Marks 21st Straight Gain Against USD
The Pakistani rupee continued to strengthen in the inter-bank market on Friday, notching its 21st consecutive gain against the US dollar.
At close, the rupee settled at 281.65 per dollar, appreciating by Re0.02 (0.01%) compared to Thursday’s closing of 281.67.
The consistent upward trend reflects improved sentiment in the foreign exchange market and ongoing stability in supply-demand dynamics.
Meanwhile, global markets remained cautious ahead of key US jobs data, with the dollar index holding steady and oil prices extending their decline amid demand concerns.
For Pakistan, the rupee’s resilience highlights growing confidence in the macroeconomic outlook, though external factors such as energy prices and global monetary shifts remain influential.
