Federal Minister Ahsan Iqbal launching Pakistan’s first fully digital Household Integrated Economic Survey 2024–25

Pakistan has launched its first-ever fully digital Household Integrated Economic Survey (HIES) 2024–25, marking a major step toward data-driven governance and evidence-based policymaking. Officially unveiled by Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal, the survey highlights notable improvements in key social and economic indicators, including literacy, internet usage, immunization coverage, and household living standards.

According to the survey results, nationwide literacy has increased to 63 percent, while household internet access surged to 70 percent and individual internet usage reached 57 percent. Full immunization coverage improved to 73 percent, infant and neonatal mortality rates declined, and the use of clean fuels rose to 38 percent. Conducted digitally across 32,000 households using an integrated ERP system, HIES 2024–25 provides policymakers, researchers, and businesses with a comprehensive and reliable data foundation to support inclusive growth, economic planning, and Pakistan’s long-term development goals.
