The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), providing modest relief to consumers under the revised petroleum pricing mechanism amid changing international oil market trends.
According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products, with the new rates taking effect from August 5, 2026.
The ex-depot price of petrol has been reduced by Rs3.39 per litre to Rs328.56 per litre, down from Rs331.95 per litre.
Similarly, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been cut by Rs4.07 per litre, bringing the new ex-depot price to Rs385.86 per litre, compared with the previous rate of Rs389.93 per litre.
The latest adjustment follows the government's daily petroleum pricing framework, under which domestic fuel prices are revised in line with movements in international oil prices and other pricing components determined by OGRA. The reduction is expected to provide limited relief to motorists and transport operators while reflecting recent trends in global energy markets.
