The federal government has reduced the prices of both petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD), providing relief to consumers under the latest revision of petroleum product prices.

According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the ex-depot price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has been reduced by Rs4.08 per litre to Rs331.95 per litre, down from Rs336.03 per litre.

The price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has also been lowered by Rs2.45 per litre, bringing the new ex-depot price to Rs389.93 per litre from Rs392.38 per litre.

The revised prices have come into effect from August 4, 2026, and were notified by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) under the federal government's petroleum pricing mechanism.

The latest adjustment reflects changes in international petroleum prices and other pricing components considered under the government's fuel pricing formula. Petrol is widely used by private motorists and motorcycles, while high-speed diesel is the primary fuel for the transport, agriculture and industrial sectors, making changes in diesel prices significant for freight costs and broader inflation trends.
