Meezan Bank and PIA sign partnership to enable discounted flight bookings for debit cardholders

Meezan Bank Limited (PSX: MEBL) has formed a strategic collaboration with Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aimed at improving travel convenience and offering tailored benefits to its debit card customers.

The agreement was formalized in Karachi, where Dr. Syed Amir Ali, President & CEO of Meezan Bank, and Mr. Nousherwan Adil, Chief Commercial Officer of PIA, signed the partnership in the presence of senior representatives from both sides.

Through this arrangement, Meezan Bank debit cardholders will be able to pay for PIA bookings directly via their cards while availing exclusive travel discounts, enabling a faster, more secure and seamless booking experience. According to the announcement, the initiative underscores a shared focus on customer facilitation through digital integration and value-added services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Dr. Amir Ali highlighted that the collaboration supports Meezan Bank’s commitment to providing convenient, Shariah-compliant banking experiences, while enhancing payment acceptance and accessibility across key consumer segments.

Commenting on the alliance, PIA’s Chief Commercial Officer Mr. Nousherwan Adil noted that the airline has been expanding cooperation with financial institutions to simplify the customer journey and enhance service offerings. The partnership with Meezan Bank, he added, provides added benefits and smoother bookings for its cardholders.

The ceremony was attended by senior executives from both organisations, including Ahmed Ali Siddiqui (Group Head Consumer Finance), Rahil Sayani (Head of Acquiring, Loyalty & Alliances) and Abid Malik (Head of Cards, Unsecured Financing & New Initiatives) from Meezan Bank, as well as S.M. Fahim (GM Digital Marketing) and Afesh Akhter (Manager Alliances) from PIA.
