Mehran Sugar Mills Limited announces 1QFY26 financial results and dividend

Mehran Sugar Mills Limited has announced its financial results for the first quarter ended December 31, 2025 (1QFY26), reporting a net profit of Rs197.38 million, according to a filing with the Pakistan Stock Exchange.

The company posted earnings per share (EPS) of Rs2.63, compared to Rs3.03 in the same period last year. Net turnover declined to Rs1.35 billion from Rs3.91 billion in 1QFY25, reflecting lower sales volumes during the quarter.

Despite lower revenue, operating profit improved to Rs231.76 million, supported by disciplined cost management, reduced distribution and administrative expenses, and a sharp decline in finance costs. Finance costs fell to Rs23.2 million from Rs96.1 million in the corresponding period last year.

Profit before taxation stood at Rs275.63 million, while taxation amounted to Rs58.57 million, resulting in the reported net profit for the quarter.

The Board of Directors approved a cash dividend of 15%, equivalent to Rs1.50 per share, for the quarter. No bonus shares or right issue were announced.

The results highlight Mehran Sugar Mills’ ability to maintain profitability amid lower sales, supported by improved operating efficiency and a significantly lower financial burden during the quarter.
