Pakistan's cement industry recorded a 7.21% increase in total dispatches during FY2025-26, supported by strong domestic demand that more than offset a slight decline in export volumes, according to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA).
Total cement dispatches reached 50.515 million tonnes during the fiscal year ended June 30, 2026, compared with 47.116 million tonnes in the previous year. Domestic cement sales rose 9.5% to 41.507 million tonnes, while exports declined 2.19% to 9.008 million tonnes from 9.21 million tonnes recorded in FY2024-25.
The association said the industry's overall performance reflected resilient construction activity and healthy local demand, which continued to support production despite softer export shipments.
On a monthly basis, the sector also posted a strong performance. June 2026 cement dispatches increased 18.38% year-on-year to 4.331 million tonnes, compared with 3.658 million tonnes in the same month last year.
Domestic dispatches during June surged 26.78% to 3.541 million tonnes, while exports declined 8.73% to 789,840 tonnes from 865,387 tonnes a year earlier.
Regionally, North-based cement mills dispatched 3.019 million tonnes during June, representing an increase of 16.39% year-on-year, driven entirely by domestic demand as exports from the northern region remained nil. Meanwhile, South-based mills recorded total dispatches of 1.31 million tonnes, up 23.23%, supported by growth in both domestic sales and exports.
For the full fiscal year, northern mills increased domestic dispatches by 10.83% to 34.720 million tonnes, although exports from the region fell sharply by 53.85% to 777,207 tonnes. Overall dispatches from northern manufacturers rose 7.53% to 35.498 million tonnes.
Southern mills also posted positive growth, with domestic sales increasing 3.18% to 6.787 million tonnes, while exports climbed 9.36% to 8.230 million tonnes. As a result, total dispatches from the southern region increased 6.48% to 15.017 million tonnes during FY2025-26.
Commenting on the outlook, APCMA expressed optimism that cement demand would remain robust in both domestic and export markets over the coming months. The association added that continued efforts to reduce geopolitical tensions could help stabilize global energy markets, easing fuel and power costs that remain key challenges for Pakistan's cement industry.
