The High Commission of Pakistan in London has launched a direct digital property transfer service for Punjab, enabling overseas Pakistanis to transfer land ownership without travelling to Pakistan or relying on powers of attorney, agents or other intermediaries.

According to the High Commission, the new system provides a fully digital, transparent and secure process that allows overseas Pakistanis to complete property transfers directly through an online platform, offering a faster and more cost-effective alternative to the conventional transfer mechanism.

To mark the launch, the High Commission successfully completed its first digital property transfer for an overseas Pakistani, Fazal, and his family. The transaction was completed without the involvement of middlemen or representatives, demonstrating the efficiency of the new service.

Sharing his experience, Fazal said the digital system eliminated the challenges typically associated with property transfers, including dealing with revenue officials and property agents. He added that the process required no additional payments or personal influence, making the transaction straightforward and hassle-free.

Fazal's daughter noted that the family had initially planned to complete the transfer through a power of attorney, but instead managed to transfer ownership directly using the digital platform. She said the entire process was completed within a single day, describing the service as transparent, secure and user-friendly.

The High Commission said the initiative reflects its continued commitment to improving digital consular services for the Pakistani diaspora and encouraged overseas Pakistanis to utilise the new facility for direct property transfers in Punjab.
