The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs4.45 per litre while reducing the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) by Rs2 per litre, with the revised rates taking effect from Thursday, August 6, 2026.

According to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy (Petroleum Division), the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government's daily petroleum pricing mechanism.

Following the latest revision, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has increased from Rs328.56 to Rs333.01 per litre, reflecting a rise of Rs4.45 per litre.

Meanwhile, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been reduced from Rs385.86 to Rs383.86 per litre, providing consumers with a Rs2 per litre relief.

The revised prices will remain applicable until tomorrow, in line with the government's daily fuel pricing mechanism, which adjusts domestic petroleum prices based on movements in international oil markets and other pricing components.

In the previous daily review, the government had reduced petrol prices by Rs3.39 per litre and cut HSD prices by Rs4.07 per litre.
