Cotton arrivals at ginning factories across Pakistan reached 527,900 bales as of July 15, 2026, registering a 77.3% year-on-year increase compared with 297,751 bales received during the corresponding period last year, according to data released by the Pakistan Cotton Ginners' Association (PCGA).

Of the total arrivals, 466,925 bales had been pressed, while 445,779 bales were sold. Textile mills accounted for 444,379 bales of total purchases, with exporters and traders purchasing 1,400 bales. No purchases were recorded under the Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP).

Across the country, 21,146 bales remained unsold, while 60,975 bales were yet to be ginned, compared with 36,892 bales during the same period last year.

Punjab recorded cotton arrivals of 201,497 bales, up 38.87% from a year earlier. The province pressed 177,639 bales and sold 164,974 bales, leaving 12,665 bales in unsold stock and 23,858 bales awaiting ginning.

Sindh posted the strongest performance, with arrivals surging 113.82% year-on-year to 326,403 bales. The province pressed 289,286 bales and sold 280,805 bales, while 8,481 bales remained unsold and 37,117 bales were yet to be ginned.

Among districts, Sanghar remained the largest cotton-producing region with 280,393 bales, followed by Vehari (41,367 bales) and Dera Ghazi Khan (36,340 bales). Strong growth was also recorded in Bahawalpur, Layyah, Hyderabad and Mirpur Khas, while Rajanpur, Toba Tek Singh and Muzaffargarh reported lower arrivals compared with last year.

A total of 218 ginning factories were operational during the reporting period, including 111 in Punjab and 107 in Sindh. Meanwhile, nationwide unsold cotton stocks stood at 82,121 bales, significantly higher than 47,771 bales recorded a year earlier, reflecting the sharp increase in this season's cotton arrivals.
