State Bank of Pakistan reports M2 money supply at Rs44.51 trillion in July 2026.

Pakistan's broad money supply (M2) declined by Rs497.06 billion on a week-on-week basis to Rs44.51 trillion as of July 10, 2026, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Despite the weekly decline, the country's money supply has expanded by Rs4 trillion since the beginning of the current fiscal year, compared with Rs40.51 trillion recorded at the end of June 2026.

The data showed that currency in circulation increased by Rs123.72 billion over the week to Rs12.22 trillion. Since the start of the fiscal year, currency in circulation has risen by Rs1.58 trillion, up from Rs10.63 trillion at the close of the previous fiscal year.

Meanwhile, bank deposits fell by Rs624.56 billion during the week to Rs32.24 trillion. However, deposits remain Rs2.43 trillion higher than their level at the end of June 2026, reflecting growth on a fiscal year-to-date basis.

According to the SBP, currency in circulation accounted for 27.45% of total M2, compared with 26.87% a week earlier. Broad money (M2), Pakistan's primary measure of money supply, comprises currency in circulation, deposits held by the non-government sector, residents' foreign currency deposits and other deposits with the central bank.
