Pakistan, ADB Sign $730m Agreements to Boost Energy Grid, SOE Reforms
Pakistan and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed agreements worth $730 million to support the country’s power transmission infrastructure and accelerate reforms in state-owned enterprises. The financing includes $330 million for the Second Power Transmission Strengthening Project and $400 million for the Accelerating SOE Transformation Programme. The initiatives aim to improve grid reliability, enable evacuation of hydropower generation, ease pressure on existing transmission lines, and enhance transparency and efficiency across public sector entities.
