Iran did not participate in the technical talks scheduled for Sunday, citing recent attacks on the country and the failure to implement key provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) reached with the United States.

Mehdi Fazaeili, a member of the Office of Preservation and Publication of the Works of Iran's Supreme Leader, said one of the main reasons for postponing the talks was the lack of access to Iran's unfrozen financial assets.

"For example, one of the reasons is checking whether we have access to the unfrozen funds. If there is no access, then this condition has not been fulfilled," Fazaeili said in remarks aired on Iranian state television.

The technical discussions were expected to advance the implementation of the broader US-Iran agreement, but Tehran maintained that several commitments under the MoU must be fulfilled before negotiations can proceed.

Separately, Iran's Supreme Leader stated that the killings of children and alleged war crimes should be pursued through both domestic and international courts, calling for accountability over the recent conflict.

The delay adds fresh uncertainty to ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at implementing the US-Iran agreement and advancing broader regional de-escalation.
