The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reduced the price of petrol by 35 paisas per litre while raising the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs5.71 per litre under Pakistan's newly introduced daily fuel pricing mechanism.

Following the latest revision, the retail price of petrol has been lowered to Rs315.80 per litre, while high-speed diesel will now retail at Rs360.06 per litre.

OGRA is now publishing petroleum product prices daily on its official website, allowing domestic fuel prices to reflect movements in international oil markets more quickly. The revised pricing mechanism is based on a seven-working-day rolling average of global benchmark prices and is intended to improve transparency and align Pakistan's fuel pricing system with international practices.

The government adopted the daily pricing framework following heightened volatility in global crude oil markets triggered by renewed geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. According to Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, the mechanism is designed to ensure that changes in international oil prices are passed on to consumers without delay while maintaining greater transparency in the pricing process.
